No, you're asking me to prove something I never said. More importantly, you also don't seem to understand the concept of trade-offs. I even spelled that out several times because if you had a wide-scale energy source that was as cheap as coal and less polluting, everybody would be using that to undercut coal. In no way does that statement imply that coal is the least-polluting thing ever and only somebody with zero reading comprehension believes that it does.

You want one example? Fine, wood. Wood is readily available, fairly cheap, but because it's so inefficient it causes far more pollution for its output (ie, compared to getting similar energy output from other sources) and, by the way, the use of wood for energy is one cause of deforestation and deforestation is alleged to be a major factor where climate change is concerned.

And there are a lot of examples like that of things we either don't use or are less likely to use because they're not as practical as coal, natural gas, oil, etc.
