| tazzyboyishere 04/05/17 6:59:57 PM #335: | Okay so now that I've finished Dragon Maid, I'm gonna do the rankings and write-ups for Winter before I pop Persona 5 in. A few things to note, Little Witch Academia will be ranked for Spring when it finishes. Also March Comes in Like a Lion finished this season, so this is where it'll be ranked. And finally, Zestiria isn't finished since the final episode won't be until the end of April, but I doubt it'll change my rankings either way. 7. Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Arc Alright, I'm gonna stop getting excited about theses shounens from years ago that are finally getting sequels. DGM was lame, and this was honestly way worse. Maybe it's due to the fact that I'm older and my tastes changed and whatnot, but I feel like it's mostly to do with the shitty pacing. Like, this entire season was just so damn slow. Felt like everything could be done in less than half the episodes we received. I was so out of it by the end that I probably won't partake in any further sequels. What a disappointment. 6. Masamune's Revenge What a shame! Masamune started out pretty solid. It was a typical romcom setup with more realistic implications (That being the fact that sexual attraction is the primary cause of many romantic pursuits. Not the actual way in which the story is written). Because of that, you get a really vain and unlikeable dude going after a really vain and unlikeable girl, and it felt pretty unique in it's own way. Of course, it just couldn't help itself and immediately falls prey to many of the formulaic tropes that persist in the genre once the 'other girl' shows up. My interest in the show basically dropped off a fucking cliff once we got into the final story arc, 5. Tales of Zestiria the X Season 2 I don't wanna call this one bad, so much as it is not what I was lead to believe. The first season was a pretty faithful adaptation, on top of having some really amazing fight scenes. The story in Zestiria isn't anything to write home about, but it was just so fun to watch! This season changes the story up from the game, focusing more on the two main females, Rose and Alicia. Issue is, they're fucking boring. The action scenes sort of get shoved to the back as well. You get a cool one every now and then, but it spends most of it's time with character interaction. Worst thing about this is how much they snubbed Edna and Lailah. They were the two best characters in the game, and they merely serve as plot devices here. One of the game's best aspects was how much fun the Seraphim were, and that as a whole is pretty much lost in this anime. --- http://i.imgur.com/l7xxLh1.jpg PSN/Steam - RoboQuote ; NNID - TazzyMan ...
