Alright, FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, it did what Danganronpa does best and makes you feel proper emotions right before hitting you with emotions you're absolutely not supposed to feel. It leads to a unique experience you can really only get through DR, but it also leaves viewers, myself included, feeling conflicted and confused most of the time. There's no real reason to try and guess where the story is going because 1. you're probably wrong and 2. the real answer is probably going to be a lot less satisfying.

This also leads to obtuse motives. I just finished this entire story in 4 days, and even then, I don't really get what any of the new characters' motives for their actions were. The only characters I feel I understood were the confectioner, the blacksmith, the pharmacist, and THE GREAT GOZU and I'm guessing that's because they really didn't mean anything to the overall plot, and if they did, they'd have also had these convoluted plans that didn't make any sense whatsoever oh wait a minute the confectioner had that anyway whoops.

I can ask at least one question per character that is fundamental to know what any of this was.

If the boxer's goal from the beginning was to weed out despair, namely the attacker, when Yu took off to go kill Naegi in the conference room, why did he say "at least let me take care of his buddies"? If Naegi is the sole attacker, does that mean he believes the entire DR1 group is full of despair? Multiple times over the course of the show, he did things just to be an a****** that makes no sense in context of the way things ended.

If Chisa was "infected" by despair from the moment the tragedy happened, why did she urge Yu to weed out all despair in the meeting? Just to stir the pot of the game about to take place?

If the end-goal was to drive Mitarai to broadcast hope throughout the world, what was the purpose of any of the s*** Tengan did the entire time, once the game started?

Actually, why did Mitarai even sit on that for so long, considering the s*** he's been through? You'd think maybe he'd use that trump card WAY before things got to this point.

Oh wow Yu, way to stab your best friend, aka the only guy you trusted this entire game and because an old guy told you everyone was despair I guess he's just collateral damage now? Also hey, Asahina just opened the door, you can just kill everyone in here now ok never mind apparently you changed your mind in the last 20 seconds after Naegi TOLD YOU THE SAME THING HE HAS BEEN THE ENTIRE f***ING TIME.

I don't understand what ANYONE was thinking for this entire show! Every time the writers decided a character needed to turn a corner in order for the story to progress, they just did so without any proper motivation to go along with it. In case you had any trouble rooting against Yu for the first 5 episodes, we've turned his eye black, is that better? Oh, now he's a good guy, so his eye isn't black anymore, you're welcome.

I'm used to Junko not making sense, considering that's just the whole point of her character, but I really didn't want that to spread to the rest of the cast.
