There is definitely some conflicting information here.

Also, did the guards know how hot they turned it up? It's only natural (but careless) to assume the hottest setting on a shower won't literally maim and kill someone. It's still horrible what they intended to do but I don't think one could differentiate death screams from normal screams of burning pain.


This is arguably the worst defense I've seen for anything, ever. Especially the last sentence.
