Even girls who clearly don't meet your requirements might respond because they want to feel "good enough." It's basically pre-emptive negging. Whereas, if you say something like "I'm just looking for a human female that doesn't murder puppies" that signals that you're a desperate loser. If you provide no standard, then there is no achievement of being "picked" by you.
