The translation manages to be fun. Highly recommended. Handshakers might be suffering in the ratings because people keep comparing it unfavorably to K, which is by the same studio (and in the same style). Gaiden (also called FE2) used to be the black sheep of the Fire Emblem series, and then Sacred Stones revisited several of its design choices (class choice, monsters, etc.) to good effect. Class choice, in particular, made a comeback in Awakening and Fates.
