84. Sleeping Dogs (PS3)

Sleeping Dogs is so good. I got this game for free on Playstation Plus a few years ago, with almost no expectations going in, and ended up being blown away by everything from the story and the graphics, to just the general presentation and aesthetic of it. Story-based open world games are definitely my thing, and this is a nearly perfect one of those.

I really liked how the game was able to both tell a serious story while adding in dumb, goofy things like the Karaoke bar mission and the ability to find a girlfriend. The side stuff this game offered was often funny or interesting, which is something many open world games lack.

There aren't too many games that I would instantly pre-order when announced, but Sleeping Dogs 2 would probably be one of them, however impossible that would be at this point.

83. Streets of Rage 2 (GEN)

I never actually owned this game until I got it for free on PSN five or six years ago, but I remember going over to my cousin's house every few weeks as a kid and exclusively playing this and NHL 94 on her Genesis. In hindsight, I almost definitely put more hours into her Genesis specifically than she did.

This is another game that I never beat, mostly because my time with it always came in a limited capacity, but every time my brother and I would get further and further in, only to have our run end on some boss. I'm not much of a fan of beat'em-ups, but everything about this game was and still is great. The enemies are cool, the levels looked great as a kid, the screams the enemies make when they die will forever be burnt into my brain, and the music is amazing. I'm not one to listen to video game music outside of a video game except in a few cases, and this game might be one of them.
