It's not that people change cell numbers all the time. It's the fact that people use all of their contacts as a speed dial so they never type in the number when they make a phone call. This leads to never memorizing the number. If you put your friends number in your landlines speed dial then you'd probably forget it eventually.


I mentioned that everyone was used to it being programmed. I'm aware they use contacts/speed dial which is why I said it was programmed. I only mentioned people changing numbers because this is the Internet where everyone always tries to correct you and come up with scenarios to oppose what you wrote so since I have known multiple friends who have in fact changed numbers for various reasons when switching phones/companies/contracts I thought I would mention it.
