It looked like one of the biggest train wrecks imaginable even before Rachel Zegler kept running her mouth and offending everybody. And after watching the 2016 Ghostbusters, I'm a lot less inclined to give terrible-looking movies a chance.

In general, most of the live-action Disney remakes have been pretty bad. The only ones I enjoyed were Pete's Dragon (where I wasn't a fan of the original) and the Jungle Book. Others ranged from mediocre to downright awful, with some hilariously questionable decisions in a few of them (like Jasmine's random song number in Aladdin -- ie, "I Won't Be Quiet" which comes out of nowhere and ends with her being quiet, so wtf was that?)

But Disney in general has been in a bit of a slump.

This is Ghostbusters reboot all over again.

New movie is announced.

The usuals go on about how its ruined cause "woke"

Movie come out and kinda sucks, with reasons having nothing to do with woke.

The other side insist it is actually good, and if you don't like it its because of being "anti "woke"". I guess as a counter to the "anti "woke"" brigade.

Technically, the criticism still strikes at a few of the issues. If they hadn't done a gender-bent team, you wouldn't have the same main cast, which would've drastically changed the movie for the better. And a lot of the jokes that didn't land were overtly social or political (where, even if the political bent was reversed, they probably would've still bombed).
