If you hack the game to put her in your party before the name entry screen, it actually defaults to Aerith. It's ONLY on that screen where it's incorrectly spelled with an S. You don't even have to hack the game btw. There's a sequence breaking glitch you can use where it passes the part where you recruit her and it automatically dumps her in your party as Aerith.
