It started as a protest against higher allowances for parliament members (more or less like senators), but it got crazier after a man was fatally run down by a police vehicle on Thursday. Police are now authorized to use rubber bullets on protesters. I should be okay since I'm still quite far from the city center, but it's been a stressful few days.
