I wish there were more RPGs that had combat similar to them and the Mario & Lugi series. Not exactly the same, but Inti Creates released a game last year called Card-en-Ciel that plays pretty similarly. The game is kind of a mash-up/crossover game, and this game's version of battle chips uses a lot of characters and artwork from their various series like Azure Striker Gunvolt and GalGun while also using "original" games (that are clearly based on real world titles).
