Having replayed RtDL with its remaster release, I feel like it gets undeserved praise because it was a, well, return to form. It was a nod to the design ethos of Super Star. And by that I simply mean that abilities come with a move set, which was something us players were asking for since Super Star.

But really, when I played it, it was . . . just okay. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't impressing me, either. It was entertaining enough. Alot of the music also didn't hit in a way that the older Kirby games did. I mean, KDL, KDL2, KDL3, Super Star, K64, and hell, Kirby's Block Ball and Pinball all came in hot with so many banger hits. But RtDL? I can think of, maybe, one song, and it's a remix of an older song.
