Splatoon (2015) Total Points: 31 List Appearances: 13 First Place Votes: 0 https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/8/81afaf39.jpg Writeup provided by ctesjbuvf I remember when Splatoon was first revealed at E3 there were a few seconds I thought we were seeing something Super Mario Sunshine related. It was not, but Nintendo doesnt often roll out a first party IP in the same fashion because they have so many timeless well established franchises, so it still had my interest. Then in the midst of buying every single amiibo in existence I bought the game on release, which I probably wouldnt have done otherwise. Fortunately for me, it was a good game. The focus and the selling point have been the online multiplayer. It is in its core a third person shooter, with the ink being what sets it apart. You shoot the other team ink but you also paint the surroundings and in your own colored paint you can travel in squid form. Im not much of an online gamer, but I did play some Turf War and it seems to be a great time killer and something that is fun to get good at. What sold me more was its single player content. There is an excellent story mode where you play through levels and fight enemies and bosses. There are all very cleverly made! Its a good length. Add the charm and soundtrack to the experience and you had a very solid game there. I would buy it for its single player only, though weve already established I bought it for an amiibo. Despite being on Wii U, it managed to be a great success, Nintendo very quickly pumped out a sequel on Switch that is essentially the same game so the Splatoon became one of Nintendos most relevant franchises today. --- http://i.imgur.com/l7xxLh1.jpg PSN/Steam - RoboQuote ; NNID - TazzyMan ...
