In most cases, if self-service is the only option, I will straight up leave the store and not buy anything. Now that McDonalds has mostly shifted to an order screen in most franchises, I no longer go into McDonalds ever. I will pretty much universally use the drive-through only because that still involves a level of human interaction. About the only place I'm willing to use an automated order screen is Wawa - and even there, I refuse to use the auto-pay terminal and will only pay for what I order at the counter with an actual cashier. I loathe the all-digital future. The moment it went from "It's an optional convenience" to "It's slowly becoming mandatory" is the moment I turned against it.
