In the 2021 mayoral election the progressives followed your advice. They made no splash whatsoever and the moderate restoration candidate cleared easily. Likewise if you change Mamdani into a standard progressive Democrat he just fails to break out from the pack and Cuomo landslides like he was in the early polling. Like if in 2016 Hillary was only facing Martin O'Malley clones.

You need to campaign like Mamdani and his presidential election analogue did to galvanize the left. And yes the left is smaller than the mainstream and generally won't beat it, but every other strategy does even worse when the mainstream is so unified behind one specific candidate.

The race was over on day 1, beyond name recognition the political winds are just in Cuomo's favor. NYC has been exhuasted with progressivism since 2022 and is also desperately looking for formidable opposition to Trump; Cuomo is experienced, connected, and basically the centrist version of Trump, one of the most egotistical, vindictive, and dirty fighting Democrats in modern history. NYC wants to leverage that.

"What if we keep doing the same thing that's not working over and over again?" God forbid we point out that going "globalize the intifada is complicated" is a stupid fucking idea anywhere, let alone a heavily Jewish city. Zohran galvanized the left in ways that cost him with others and that's about to become painfully clear.

You are so allergic to admitting the left can make a mistake you're defending Assad in another topic. Sit down.
