The GameStop e-mails confused me, so I stopped in the store to ask how it works. At that store, the clerk explained that at 3pm those who are there will receive a number and pay for the Switch 2, and then you need to come back at 11 pm to actually pick up the Switch 2. You are NOT expected to wait at the store the entire time from 3pm to 11 pm. The clerk said there would be a "handsome" amount of Switch 2's there.

I did not get a preorder, and I'm undecided if I wanna try to get one this way or not. It doesn't work great with my work schedule, though I could take the afternoon off I guess. I did put my name on the Nintendo Store preorder list the same day that came out, so I imagine I can get one eventually there.

I've never preordered a console in my life, but after difficulties getting a PS5 and Switch 1 even months or years after launch, I thought it might be just as easy to get now as in the future. It'd be nice to play the new Mario Kart when it comes out, and I do have some travel coming up in June/July so it would be nice to have, but I still got a decent backlog of Switch 1 games anyway.

Okay, THIS I can definitely at least try for.
