He has right wing views, but what lends credibility to those views among his listeners and viewers is that he doesn't treat his show as a political project. He has guests or conversations that they're interested in and then happens to spout right wing ideas along the way. Any effort by the Democratic Party to push a podcaster or media figure will result in that figure not being trusted by the sorts of people who take Rogan seriously.
