You don't really have to be a fan of Trump to point out that the Left would absolutely be celebrating if the roles were reversed. There are people on the Left who regularly advocate for someone to assassinate Trump, and other people on the Left who will actively cheer them on or defend them. If Trump came out tomorrow and said he had cancer there'd be people throwing parties. There's really no moral high ground here.

And like it or not, every single thing one side does effectively opens the door to the other side doing it. It's why political discourse online is so toxic - because the worst elements on both sides are constantly racing to be the lowest common denominator in any conversation. Whatever shit thing you do today is the shit thing your opponents will be doing tomorrow, and vice-versa.
