I think there's some confusion about how PPP works. The Switch 2 is the cheapest in the US out of all the countries. Japan's PPP with the US is 70% of the US, so even their $350 model is relatively more expensive than the US, because $350 in Japan has the purchasing power of ~$500 in the US.
PPP is irrelevant here. Nintendo is just setting prices based on how much they think they can charge without losing sales.
