I've played a few games in the series, and even from a modern perspective I think the older ones are better, simply because the core gameplay is faster. I also can't ding it for having a minimal story because of that toy-like quality. In some ways it's refreshing to play a JRPG without any anime or otherwise dramatic bullshit. --- You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50.
