Assassins Creed with ninja and samurai comes out: "Meh, it's an overused setting." In the late 00's, I think you might have had a Ninja Gaiden or two? But in recent years, the setting has really made a comeback. I could see some players having this outlook. Doesn't make any difference to me, though. I've always thought it was cool and never cared how many there were at one time.
