You can re-enable ublock in Chrome even though they insist that it's not supported. Presumably it won't be able to receive updates, though, so that's only a temporary solution.
Yeah if pi continues to work like this then I won't bother re-installing ublock because you're right, eventually google will do something to undo ublock and ublock won't be able to update to match it.

This is an unfortunate mindset to have. But whatever makes you happy I guess. It's not as if I'm sitting around stressing about my precious data. I'm just against the practice in principle. We are essentially products for these giant tech companies whose greed is utterly insatiable. Double-fuck them.

Firefox has been one of the best private browsers. It's free open source software and has been the default browser on Linux for a long time. Up until now there was never a concern about them mining data or adding useless AI crap that nobody wants or needs.

Use LibreWolf + uBlock Origin. Brave and Edge are Chromium and thus only useful for downloading a better, firefox-based, browser.
Oh yeah I mean fuck them agreed. I just am resigned to the fact that nothing is truly private anymore. Your computer, your phone, hell your car is listening at this point.

Librewolf + ublock has a couple of mentions ITT now, so maybe that's my next step if pi falls apart.

Are you saying that you use a pi hole and it works on youtube?
For this small sample size, yes. I've started 3 videos now (one of which was just a second of the trailer for s2 of Andor, which obviously would've had an ad) and none of them had ads. Again, still small sample size, but so far so good.
