| Topic | IDC what anybody says about Chiropractors, my guy's a miracle worker |
| ParanoidObsessive 02/17/25 2:34:22 PM #19: | The main reason why people crap on chiropractors is because they don't actually require a medial license or training to be one. And most actual training in the field is considered borderline pseudoscience. It's like someone claiming to be a "mental health practitioner", which doesn't require anything resembling actual psychological or psychiatric certification or training. Or a reiki practitioner claiming to be anything other than a pseudoscience huckster. There are loopholes in how things are run and regulated. And a chiropractor helping you feel better doesn't actually undercut that. It's entirely possible for even a total fraud to get results on occasion. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, etc etc. ReturnOfFa posted... That being said - I have found relief from a chiropracter. How is that possible when I just said the other thing? I mean, to be fair, I could give someone a head, neck, shoulder, or back massage and they could feel fantastic from it. Possibly even alleviating existing pain for a few days. That doesn't mean I have anything resembling medical training or knowledge, or have any clue what the fuck I'm doing. In fact, I've been told I'm really good at neck and shoulder massages - and I'm pretty sure I'm not qualified to be a physical therapist. A lot of what chiropractors can actually help with is basically just "stretching". The sort of thing most people can do on their own (via something like yoga), with help from people they know, or from actual physical therapists (more effectively and more safely). And with a chiropractor, you're always running the risk that they can exacerbate existing problems by accident because they're not treating them correctly. --- "Wall of Text'D!" --- oldskoolplayr76 "POwned again." --- blight family ...
