Topic	Isn't owning pets selfish?

Basically, wolves that had less aggressive tendencies and instead decided to approach humans for food and safety in exchange for loyalty and companionship. If not for domestication, they basically would be extinct today. Cats are a bit different, but really not that much. They still have most of their hunter instinct, but by and large probably would not be fairing very well if we up and decided to stop having them as pets.
