I also made it to the second open area in Indiana Jones. I guess that I have to rethink my approach in the latter game because my just-go-ahead-and-beatup-Nazis/Fascists strategy might not work any longer because these guys can take a lot more punches now, dole out a lot more punches and damages, and they block all the time. I may have to carry a melee weapon with me at most times now.

I made it to the 3rd open area now. Well...I think it's an open area but I guess I haven't gotten quite far enough yet. I found the 2nd area to be not as interesting as the first, simply because it wasn't as tightly packed but some of that comes down to the nature of the space.

I'm assuming you've leveled up some of your fighting and weapon abilities, no? I didn't find the enemies in the second area to be much more difficult. Then again, I always play sneaky so my strategy is to avoid as much as possible and only sneak kill/knock down when necessary. I did run into one situation where I alerted a shit load of guards; thankfully it was in an area with a bunch of boxes I could run around and take them out 1 or 2 at a time.

I think the 2nd area also suffers from it being more obvious what the loop of the game is going to be. It's still fun but I don't know how many more areas beyond a 3rd that it still works without feeling rote. Clearly the best part of the game is the non-game parts. The atmosphere, characters, acting (voice and otherwise), music, sound cues...it so perfectly captures the essence of Indiana Jones.
