Obviously people need something to talk about and that topic is created by the media. Duh? Ive been saying that the whole time. Thats literally the whole point of me calling certain things smokescreens. Politicians have stances on simple to understand contentious points and the media focuses on those and creating a rift rather than talking about stuff people from both parties actually agree on. Then people discuss and villify the other side which is exactly what they want and what makes the divide radicalize.
