This isn't the kind of usage that the OP (or anyone else in the thread) is talking about.

I've been to Hawaii sporting events before where "LET'S GO BOWS" was a typical rallying cry. You know when it was generally used? When they were falling behind, and needed to do something to catch up. Not after they'd just scored or won the game.
