Don't blame the dog, blame the trainer.

Exactly.
A friend of a friend of mine has 2 pits. Went over to his place a couple of weeks ago and the male pit showed aggressive behavior towards me because I was a stranger. Nothing too serious, just barking and puffing his chest towards me. Even though I'm not afraid of dogs at all and showed no signs of being nervous or afraid, you should have seen how quickly the owner reacted and how tiny and subservient that dog became within 5 seconds. That's how every owner of every single breed needs to be, not the all too common "Oh, don't worry. He just barks, he's a sweetheart" response while letting their dog continue its negative behavior.
