The US "left" calling a literal kid "fair game" (referring to bullying and personal attacks) is hilarious on a board where there's constant complaints about having to vote between two very old right wing white men for president. 18 is literally the age of recognized adulthood across the entire nation. It's the universal age of consent, it's the age they can vote, that's the typical age they can go to college/higher education, etc. Also, they are teenagers, which are adolescents, however I feel like referring to them as "kids" muddies things that affects actual kids.
