It's a good choice for those with an existing AM4 motherboard who need a CPU upgrade (but don't want to replace mobo and RAM too); but anyone getting new hardware should be going AM5. AM4 is at the end of its lifecycle; whatever CPU you get on that now, you're basically stuck with until you're ready to replace all three of CPU, mobo and RAM. --- Do, or do not.
