Stick with it, don't be discouraged by knowing fuck all about music or theory, there are plenty of ways to learn to play that don't rely on it, the main thing is knowing what songs you want to play and finding a resource that will help you learn them. Tablature is a sort 'paint by numbers' approach to learning songs and you can find them at places like UltimateGuitar.com I've been playing Bass on and off for about 20ish years, I still know fuck all about music theory, but I can still jam to songs thanks to learning some tabs or just being familiar enough with the fretboard to be able to recognise what notes to play. --- And that blood is so real, because I just can't fake it.
