This sure does read as "there is zero pressure to come out". <facepalm> The pressure in that context is the pressure of seeing other people--peers--out first. I don't see it state (or even imply) that friends are pressuring you to do the same. Are you going to suggest there's a kind of... agenda... that's pushing teens to come out before they want to, and to "perform" their identity?
