I think the average voter has been convinced that anything Arab sounding is scary and coming to their podunk little town to terrorism them and their kids - and they have no knowledge of the persistent apartheid conditions in Gaza.

The evening news are still owned by either right wing cranks that fluctuate between anti-semitism for their white nationalist audience, and Zionism for their fundamentalist audience, while centrist corporate media outlets like MSNBC still want their parent and sister companies to sell more weapons to places like Israel to keep the bloodshed going.

I don't think many really care about Israel at all, they have been frightened into thinking Israel is "fighting them over there so we don't fight them here" - which is an outdated mantra we used to justify the failed Iraq War.
