China is a manufacturing-export nation. Their economy benefits when competing export countries do less manufacturing, so China will typically want to remain isolationist when it comes to things that they have no interests with. The more that the US, Russia, and Europe are all fighting each other, the less time and resources they are devoting towards making their manufacturing sectors competitive. However, China will NOT be isolationist when it comes to their mining interests in Africa, or natural resources in SE Asia, and, of course Taiwan.
