My only question about Dumey's "plan" is when he came up with it. Because Peaf was the one who extended the invitation first, so if it was a trap for Peaf then I would have expected it to have been extended by Dumey. And the date was confirmed with:

I absolutely see some merit in trying to gauge if your date is just coasting or not, it just feels like a retcon with how the date got confirmed in the first place.

That's the timeline. It wasn't pre-planned. I just didn't see a need to break-up with him when I thought I could get some value out of it otherwise.
