Chris immediately accepting Dumey's explanation after he's been needling him forever feels super theatre to me. I mean, Dumey's explanation makes sense. Plus, the dude is obviously getting worked up, and Chris is naturally trying to keep peace. Whether he's being genuinely empathetic or doing it to keep up a faade as scum, that's up in the air. But "theatrics" ain't the word I'd use. If it's feigning kindness, it's not an obvious ruse to me. Though honestly, I wouldn't be opposed to letting Dumey die today just so we can move on to a different conversation.
