I really can't bring myself to agree with that point. There's no way to guarantee scum won't be among the earliest pairs being made and I feel like if we don't stigmatize early pairing it will be used as a crutch by most to participate less.

You can't really learn anything from a mad dash to shack up, right? Anyone's actions in that scenario can be realistically explained by doing what was required by the moment to survive.
