100% gas for a stove top. When you turn the burner off its immediately off. I like my temperature control to be by judging the flame, plus it doesnt cycle on and off like most electric stove tops. Gas responds quickly to temperature changes. Ability to use gas in a power outage is nice. As long as its not a newer model that prevents you from lighting the pilot light by hand.

The other thing I like with gas stove is I can utilize the heavy duty cast iron burners and put my heavy duty large pressure canner on the stove. This was a big advantage over the electric burner elements or the sealed burners with glass cooktops that cant handle the weight. The steady temperature control of gas is a huge advantage when pressure canning as well.

I have had electric stoves and cooked on them fine. I like them. I just think gas has a couple advantages.
