Is the issue here overly aggressive behavior, or overly aggressive behavior from short dudes? Is overly aggressive behavior not annoying when it comes from someone who isn't a short man?

It just comes across very differently. Theres a marked difference in the behaviour of a psychopath and somebody who is being aggressive to compensate for something, as their aggression never really rings true.

If you cant see it, you cant see it. Youre not going to convince me it doesnt happen though.
