I know the details because they're key to the controversy. First she denied seeing the guy, then she denied knowing he was married, then she clamed she broke it off after finding out he was married. All of these claims were false and she later confessed to making them up because she was conflicted and afraid. And the dude has clarified that he never expressed any intention of divorcing his wife.

Problem is Miss Japan isn't a job, it's a nomination for Miss Universe. Miss Universe is basically looking to recognize the most beautiful woman of the year both inside and out. If your morals are in public question then you're obviously not gonna win and are wasting your country's nomination. There is no logical move but to bow out.
