The second game released in the series, probably the only game most people care about, and the only one to get a port/remake.
The gameplay is well-liked for its open levels and multiple paths to beat the game... and there are even two good endings.
Of course, the most noteworthy thing about the game is the amazing quotes. The 3DS version even has a lot of the original voice actors hired in order to preserve the nostalgia of the original.

After the mixed reception of Sunshine, the fan reaction to Galaxy after it was released was surprisingly very good.
The first Mario platformer to be released on the Wii, and one of the most liked.
With its praised graphics and unique powerups this seems one of THE games to play if you have a Wii.

Possibly the most well-liked in the series and was chronologically the first in the series before the newer game was announced.
The game has a bunch of cheesy (in a good way) and awesome cutscenes that most people who play seem to enjoy, especially since the main character Dante is pretty badass.
The gameplay is known to be quite hard but very rewarding when you finally beat it.

There are many things to do in this game: doing the main quests, stealing cars, beating up civilians, running from the police or literally stealing a Hydra plane.

One of Square's more recent and more niche series but still pretty popular.
Some of the characters and the music do get praised by fans but really sticks out is the battle system.
You control two characters at one time, Neku on the bottom screen and his partner on the screen. You use the touch screen to attack with Neku and buttons to attack with his partner.
It can be complicated at first but after a bunch of battles you get used to it.
