Though looking through Serenes and trying to find the source for being able to have kids with everyone, I think it's just people extrapolating from the last ~20 seconds of that video. But it would be awesome if it were true.
Iwata mentions it in the interview, so it's confirmed.

No news for the US. Though Wikipedia says a European release is scheduled...
But the 3DS is region-locked.

I'm fairly confident it will be released in the US, but I'd buy a European 3DS for this game if I have to ;>_>
