If they had a proper tutorial and a storymode that didn't completely suck, I could see myself playing far more of the genre. This for me and Street Fighter IV. Saw the pretty intro, saw the great scores, went and bought the game. I was awful, the genre seems so hard to get into unless you spend another $80 or whatever for a proper fight stick, then learn all of the move inputs.
