Speaking of multiplayer, what does it mean to "promote" a character? And what's the best value pack to spend credits on - the cheap one, or save up for Spectre?
Promote gives you useless EMS in singleplayer, reduces your multiplayer class to 1. The benefit is that it gives you 10 N7 levels and allows you to keep increasing that level by continuously promoting. And it's a way to respec a class as well.
Save up for Spectre. Get skill, learn how to play Gold. With luck, you'll find some good players and you'll be able to get through a match. You'll get enough credits from that for a Spectre Pack.
