I dunno about ditto baseball. Hitting a baseball is often described as one of the hardest things to do in sports. And I'm not even a big fan of the sport.

Baseball's an odd case, because it does take a rare talent to be able to play it well at a Major League level, and it's not something that can really be taught. Either you can hit or you can't, and if you can't (and you're not a pitcher) you are probably not gonna have a job unless you play ELITE defense.

It doesn't take a lot of athleticism to play (although that certainly helps), certainly a lot less athleticism than soccer or hockey or football or basketball, but it takes a lot of skill.
