I come from LA, which is, you know, a huge city. I'm currently in a much smaller town on a vacation, only 6000 people, the economy of which revolves completely around tourists visiting their ridiculously nice lake (trust me, this is an amazing lake) and several ski resorts during the winter. I rarely go to small towns, but when I do, I've noticed something (not just here, but other places): the food isn't as good. I mean that I went to the market, a Vons, and I go to Vons in LA all the time, and the snack food I bought to eat at the hotel between jetskiing and stuff is just not as good as what I buy in LA, even though it's the exact same stuff. I noticed this last time I was in this town, but I figured maybe I'd just got a bad batch of food for whatever reason. The salsa and chips, the fruit, even the soda, it's just not as good as what I can buy in LA and I am at a loss to explain why.

Maybe it's just the small towns near LA? Or maybe I've just gotten really unlucky several times in a row? I don't know, can I get the opinions of other people from large cities who visit small towns, is the food also not as good in your opinion?

Not that any of this really matters, I still have to buy the food here because it's not like I brought food from LA with me, I just thought I'd post this.
