I don't really have a problem with people charging extra for access to more of their intellectual property, even if it's already on the disc, but I think they need to find another name for it than downloadable content. Maybe just "premium content"?
Yes, because giving it a name totally justifies locking content away from your customers when it's literally right in front of their faces.
It really is sad that this is where we're at in the industry. When a finished game has pieces cut out of it specifically to sell the pieces back to the public for what they pretend is a reasonable price. This type of thing makes literally no sense, and if you brought this idea up 10 years ago, people would think you were f***ing crazy.
