Well I usually go back and check around for sidequests every once in a while, so unless the window is narrow I'll probably be fine. I never use guides, but I found all the sidequests in Symphonia by myself, to take a related example.
Anyway I started the game, on hard mode of course, and now everyone is calling me Master Luke, and I read everything in C-3PO's voice and it's pretty cool.
