Bio's pretty much right in this topic.
Had the father just taken away her laptop/phone, you guys wouldn't be nearly as upset. All he did was make it a bit more of a spectacle in an attempt to hammer the point home since (obviously) the first three month span she was grounded did nothing to get her to change her attitude. It's just really not a big deal. I feel like if he weren't wearing a cowboy hat and using a gun you guys wouldn't be as upset, either. It's just... really not a big deal from a parenting perspective and I don't see why anyone thinks it is.
Doing it is one thing, doing it in public is something else. He behaved like a child. If I were his father I'd be very disappointed in him.
